Patterrn was tasked with promoting the book in the lead up to its publication in October 2015 and beyond. The strategy involved garnering coverage from respected Formula One journalists, running competitions in conjunction with circuits that are featured in the book, and developing user-generated content regarding such as the fans ‘ultimate Formula One calendar’ based on the tracks featured in the book.
Following its launch, Grand Prix Circuits became the bestseller motor sport category on Amazon UK and entered the Top 100 bestseller list of all books sold on the site. Reviews were published in publications worldwide, including The New York Times, The Guardian and Auto Motor und Sport. A poll conducted in conjunction with JamesAllenonF1.com received almost 8,000 entries and the author, Maurice Hamilton, appeared on Sky Sports F1 Midweek Report, which discussed Grand Prix Circuits and included a dedicated 15-minute online interview on the channel’s website.
